1st Annual Skate Dark to Light

2025 Event

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to our 1st Annual Skate Dark to Light!

We kicked things off at 4:30 AM with 12 skaters by 4:45 AM, and by 6:00 AM we had over 25 people on site, with about 40 participants in and out throughout the morning.

Together, we raised $742.45 for the Golden Family Center

  • $300.00 from the donations table
  • $442.45 from Semicolon sales donations

Which is awesome for our first year

This event came to life from a seed idea at the @GoldenFamilyCenter to host a satellite version of @pushtoheal’s #skatedarktolight, paired with our own deep understanding and commitment to suicide prevention awareness here at Semicolon Skateboards.

Big shout-out to @ethoscafe.golden for fueling us with Golden’s finest coffee, all the fixings, and fresh-baked muffins. Absolute legends.

Suicide is real, and the numbers are growing. Let’s all do our part to help our friends and loved ones through life’s rough patches. Everyone struggles sometimes, and everyone’s feelings are valid. We don’t always need to understand what someone is going through — we just need to show empathy, remind them they are not alone, and be there in the moments they need us.

Why skateboarding?
Skateboarding is more than just tricks — it’s a powerful tool for mental health and resilience. It teaches us to fall, get back up, and try again. It builds patience, persistence, and self-belief. It creates space for healthy self-challenge, self-expression, and community connection. For those who are struggling, skateboarding provides an outlet: a way to focus energy, release emotions, and find belonging.

At Semicolon Skateboards, we believe the act of skating mirrors life itself — it’s about overcoming setbacks, embracing growth, and carrying on when things get hard. Falling is part of the process — in skating, and in life.

Already excited for next year
